Bus
The bus is one of the most comfortable and economical options for urban transport in Tarifa. It is a relatively small city, and therefore, comfortable to move around on foot or by bike. Nonetheless, the bus company “Horizonte Sur” operates a line that can be useful for your trips. The route he takes is the following:
The wire / The Turrets / Battle of the Salado / Margaritas / Cerro / Clinic / birdies / Lidl / Sol neighborhood / Retirement / Caleta / Sea Gate / Civil Guard / Jerez Gate / Congo / Pool / Kiosk Juan / Mercadona / The wire.
The passing frequency is about 30 minutes, and the ticket price is 1 euro for adults and 0,50 pennies for children.
What's more, from July 1 to 31 of August, the same company operates a line that connects the bus station with the main hotels and campsites on the north coast of the city. The route he takes is the following:
Bus station / Camping Río Jara / Hotel Dos Mares / Camping Tarifa / Hotel Hurricane / Camping Torre de la Peña / Explore-Three Seas / Camping Torre de la Peña II / Camping Paloma / Camping Garden of the Doubts.
- The departure times from Tarifa are: 7.50, 9.30, 10.45, 12.15, 14.00, 15.15, 17.00, 18.30, 20.00, 22.00 Y 23.00 (Friday and Saturday also at 00.30, 13.30 Y 14.30).
- The departure times of the Jardin de las Dudas campsite are: 8.45, 10.15, 11.45, 12.45, 14.45, 16.15, 17.45, 19.15, 20.50, 22.30 Y 23.45 (Friday and Saturday also at 13, 14 Y 15 hours).
By last, keep in mind that also during this same summer period (of 1 from July to 31 of August) a bus connects Tarifa with Bolonia beach from Monday to Friday. The departure times of this service are as follows:
- Tarifa-Bologna: 10:45, 15:15 Y 20:00.
- Bologna – Rate: 11.30, 16.00 Y 20.30.

Boat – Visit Morocco
Tarifa has direct connection by boat with Tangier. From the port of Tarifa, Fast ferries depart daily to Tangier. The journey lasts only 35 minutes, since the distance that separates Morocco from Spain is only 14 km. It is a pleasant journey through the waters that join the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
If you're lucky, you will not miss the company of dolphins, orcas, whales and other marine species as well as birds, that you can see from the stern if the weather allows it.
